The Bullmastiff is a dog with a strong, symmetrical and powerful structure, but not heavy. His head is that of a prize dog: his skull must be strong and square. The perimeter of the skull should be equal to the height at the withers. The muzzle is short: the distance between the tip of the nose and the stop represents about a third of the total length of the head. The skull-face axes are convergent and the stop is therefore well marked. The eyes can be dark or hazel, of medium size, wide apart and separated by a wrinkle. The ears, "V" shaped or folded back, have a wide and high attachment, at the level of the occiput. The dentition must be strong, with large and well separated canines. Closing with scissors or pincers is authorized: slight prognathism is allowed but not sought. The members are strong and muscular.
