The Wire Fox Terrier is a very active and lively dog, which contains strength and good bones in a small volume, without ever looking clumsy. When standing, it should look like a well-built hunting horse, with a short back and covering a lot of ground. The skull is flat, moderately narrow and narrows towards the eyes. The stop is moderately marked. The jaw and mandible are strong and muscular. The eyes, small and dark, should be as round as possible and have an intelligent expression. The ears are small, V shaped, falling forward towards the cheeks; they fold over the skull. The limbs must be straight and of strong bones; they must not present any angulation seen from the front. The tail, which is amputated, is tied high and carried joyfully; it is never bent over its back or rolled up.
