The West Highland White Terrier is often called Westie. The general appearance is that of a solid dog, small but full of ardor and very rustic. The head has a slightly domed skull, with a uniform outline; it is worn at right or acute angles to the axis of the neck. The stop is marked; the chamfer is quite powerful. The eyes are wide apart, of medium size, as dark as possible. The ears are small, straight, worn erect. The tail measures 12.5 to 15 cm long: it is worn proudly, neither happily nor curled over the back.
