Flat-Coated Retriever

The Flat-Coated Retriever is a lively and active dog of medium size, with a powerful structure but not heavy, an elegant appearance without trace of gracefulness. The head is long and well shaped, with a flat and moderately large skull, a slight stop. The eyes are medium in size, dark brown or hazel in color. The ears are small, well attached, pendulous and adhere well to the sides of the head. The members are straight and muscular. The tail is always carried cheerfully, but it should not rise above the dorsal line.
