Afghan Hound

The Afghan Hound has an appearance that gives off an impression of strength and dignity, combining speed and power. The oriental expression is typical of the breed. The head has a long and narrow skull, with a prominent occiput, a long snout, firm jaws and a light stop. The eyes are preferably dark, almost triangular and slightly oblique towards the top. The ears are attached low and well behind, adhering to the head. The limbs are straight and have good bones. The tail should not be too short: tied low and ending in a ring, it is worn raised when the dog is in action; it has rare fringes.
