The Shetland Sheepdog looks a lot like a long-haired Collie in miniature, but there are substantial differences between the two dogs. The head is in the form of a blunt cone which narrows from the ears to the nose. His cheeks are flat. The medium sized eyes are oblique and almond shaped. The ears are small, moderately large at the base, fairly close together on the upper part of the skull; they are carried semi-erect. The body is slightly longer than tall. The limbs have good angulation, are parallel and plump. The tail is tied low, goes down to the hock and is worn hanging.
