The Scottish Terrier is a robust tiny dog, the size of which is suitable for entering a terrier, with short limbs and a lively gait: it gives the impression of great power and flexibility in a small volume. The head seems long for a dog of its size. The skull and muzzle are of equal length; the stop is light but well defined. The eyes are almond-shaped, dark brown, with an intelligent and lively expression. The ears are proportionate to the dimensions of the head, fine, pointed, erect and placed at the top of the skull. The limbs are short but robust and straight. The tail is of medium length, inserted high and carried straight or slightly curved.
