Maltese

The Maltese is a small dog whose trunk exceeds the height at the withers by a third in length, giving the impression of being narrow and long. The head, trunk, tail and limbs are covered with a silky coat, very long and very shiny. The skull is flat. The eyes are rounded and very dark. The ears, of triangular shape, are inserted high, hanging and adhering to the sides of the skull, well provided with hair. The limbs are short and plump, rich in hair. The tail is inserted in line with the rump. Its port has a single large curve and the tip will touch the rump between the two hips; it has very long hairs that touch the hock.
