The Lhasa Apso is a small dog with an elongated, low and massive body, but nevertheless agile. The head is large, with an abundant cascade of hair on the eyes, he has a full beard and mustaches. The fairly narrow skull sags noticeably behind the eyes. The eyes are dark, of medium size, not globular or sunken. The ears are drooping and heavily fringed. The length of the body is greater than the height at the withers. The tail is richly fringed, carried above the back. There is often a knot (thickening of the bone) at the tip. The limbs are short, straight, well supplied with hair, solid.
