The English Setter is a beautiful point dog. It is a light mesomorph, the trunk of which is inscribed in a rectangle. The head is long, dry, light. The length of the skull is equal to that of the muzzle. The skull cap is slightly domed. The stop is accentuated but not abrupt. The eyes are large, expressive, of a hazelnut color, the darkest possible (a little less dark in white orange subjects). The ears are attached low, hanging, without moving away from the cheeks. The back is straight, the kidney muscular and well arched. The limbs are perfectly plump. The tail is inserted high: large and robust at the base, it tapers to the tip; it is worn rather low than high, slightly curved in the shape of an inverted saber.
